Mark Crissman, MD, a native of Graham, NC, has practiced family medicine since 1983. He received B.S. and M.S. degrees in biology from Appalachian State University, and attended Temple Medical School in Philadelphia, PA. Following his residency in family medicine at Wake Forest University’s Bowman Gray School of Medicine, he moved to Troy, NC to work for the Public Health Service.
In 1985 he made the decision to join his father at Crissman Family Practice in Graham, where they worked together until his father’s retirement in 1992. Following in his father’s footsteps, he continues to serve the community and surrounding area by carrying on the work they began together.
He takes pleasure in the variety of challenges offered by family medicine, and enjoys keeping abreast of the technology and information available to physicians today. An instrument-rated pilot himself, Dr. Crissman is a certified aviation medical examiner and serves on the local airport authority. In addition, he enjoys snow-skiing, travel, medical mission opportunities, and participates in triathlons as his schedule allows. He and his wife, Marie, have a blended family of seven children and two grandchildren and live in Burlington.
